Exploring the Darkness
Unlike its predecessor Libra, Scorpio knows very well that everything can’t be nice all the time. No one is without their flaws and vices and Scorpio is an embodiment of this understanding. In fact, Scorpio’s energy is represented by the god of the underworld, Hades. While many people are afraid of dealing with the uncomfortable, Scorpio understands that in order to be the most authentic, it is important to address not only what is nice about our characters but also what is complex and sometimes less desirable. Scorpio Obsession & Jealousy
Yes, Scorpio can be obsessed. There’s this all-or-nothing energy associated with Scorpio where there is this total immersion in the experience of a person, place, or thing or not. This is the extreme part of Scorpio’s energy that people either love or hate. Some would view this as being obsessive and in some cases, Scorpio can become so consumed with knowing everything about its “target” that it does appear that they have this unhealthy lock on finding out everything that they can. This is associated with the need for depth because in order to truly know something it is important to dive deep and immerse oneself in the experience of that thing.
Also, once Scorpio decides something is theirs they can be jealous. Because of the intense interaction between Scorpio and their object of desire, there’s really no room for options. Scorpio has the decisiveness that Libra lacks. Scorpio will not tolerate lingering eyes and playing of games once they have decided that someone is worthwhile to them. Intimacy is serious business that requires fixed attention.
The Desire for Intimacy
Speaking of intimacy, Scorpio rules the bonding of people in a manner where the combined energies are able to do much more together than they would apart. For some, this type of depth can be incredibly transformative and highly desired. However, for others, Scorpio and Pluto energy, particularly in the form of relationships, can be downright scary…especially when it means dealing with those parts of ourselves that we may want to keep hidden. It is through lowering the guard with a very carefully selected person that is deserving of deep intimacy that Scorpio is able to explore itself and the depths of the other. Becoming the Phoenix
