And although they’ll have to wait a few months for Taylor Swift’s Midnights to be released, just enough information about the album has been published to satisfy Swifties until then.

Swift initially disclosed Midnight’s release date during her acceptance speech for video of the year. She mentioned that the brand-new album would be released on October 21. Yes! The wait is over.
The following evening, she reaffirmed the date in an Instagram post.
It Has 13 Tracks
Midnights will feature thirteen new songs, not twelve as the title might indeed suggest. Swift characterized them on Instagram as the scattered tales of thirteen sleepless nights throughout her life.
On the album’s cover, a dozen tracks are categorized into two parts, with the first six songs grouped under “Side A” and the final seven under “Side B.”
It Will Be Highly Emotional
Swift released a summary of the album’s contents on Instagram, and oh lord. Buckle up. Judging from what she said, Midnights might well be her most personal, emotional, and vulnerable piece to date, which, if you’re familiar with her artistry, is saying a lot.
She wrote beneath a promotional shot of her sitting somberly in a dimly lit room discussing the record. “We lie awake in love and dread, in turmoil and tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t — right this minute — about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.”
She stated that the album is a compilation of songs composed at Midnight, thus a voyage between nightmares and lovely dreams. She mentioned “the floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching — hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”
Thus, we expect that it carries a wide range of emotions.
Cover Artwork
The midnights’ album cover is pretty clean, straightforward, and indie.
The album’s bottom right corner features an artwork — is a square photograph of Taylor Swift wearing iridescent blue eye shadow and her signature red lipstick while holding a lighter close to her face. It occupies perhaps slightly more than half of the complete cover, with limited, off-white negative space on the top and left. The title is shown in light blue ombre letters over a photo of Taylor Swift, with several tracks to the side.
The Moonstone Blue Discs
After the album was announced, information about physical copies of Midnights was published on Swift’s website; nevertheless, it took until after Midnight for fans to access the information.
Customers can purchase the record on CD, vinyl, or cassette tape, with the first two formats featuring “blue moonstone” marble-colored discs that are thematically appropriate. The vinyl will have a collectible record jacket, a full-size gatefold photo, and an eight-page collector booklet with “never-before-seen photos.” The CD packaging will feature exclusive disc artwork and a 24-page photo booklet.
Limited-Edition Vinyl Records
Three further ethereal variants of the Midnights vinyl were made available, alongside the moonstone discs, for a brief period (one week). Swift presented the special copies (at Midnight, of course) only four days after the album’s release. appearing in an Instagram post with three types of vinyl for sale on her website (September 1).
Each of the three cases, titled Midnights: Jade Green Edition Vinyl, Midnights: Blood Moon Edition Vinyl, and Midnights: Mahogany Edition Vinyl, features a variant cover image as well as different-colored title and track listing typography. And within each of the three discs was a distinct hue of green, orange, or brownstone.
It Might Create History
If Midnights hits the top spot on the Billboard 200, she will tie Barbra Streisand for having the number-one albums by a female performer. Midnights would be Swift’s eleventh album to top the chart, tying her with Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, and Drake for the third-most No. 1s since the chart’s inception in 1956. The only artists with over 11 No. 1 albums are The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14).
The Track List
When you think you’ve got Taylor figured out, she goes and does something completely unexpected. The pop artist published the five final episodes of “Midnights Mayhem With Me” in only a few hours on October 7, deviating from her usual schedule of sharing one song title every few days.
The night’s surprises continued, though. After announcing the track names for “Lavender Haze,” “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” “Labyrinth,” and “Sweet Nothing,” Swift revealed the one collaboration on Midnights: “Snow on the Beach” with Lana Del Rey.
Here is the complete track listing for Midnights:
- “Lavender Haze”
- “Maroon”
- “Anti-Hero”
- “Snowfall on the beach” (featuring Lana Del Rey)
- “You’re on Your Own, Kid”
- “Midnight Rain”
- “Question… ?”
- “Vigilante Shit”
- “Bejeweled”
- “Labyrinth”
- “Karma”
- “Sweet Nothing”
- “Mastermind”
Joe Alwyn is the Subject of a Song
Swift shared a clip detailing the meaning of the song “Lavender Haze,” which revolves around her longtime partner, actor Joe Alwyn, similar to the Instagram video she created for “Anti-Hero.”
She remarked in the video that she stumbled into the word ‘lavender haze’ while watching Mad Men. She researched it because she thought it seemed cool and soon discovered that it was a widespread phrase used to express being in love in the 1950s.
She said that she supposes hypothetically, while a person is in the purple haze, they’ll do anything to stay there and prevent others from bringing them down from that cloud. She added that in the age of social media, she believes many people, not only ‘public personalities,’ must deal with this issue. If the world discovers that someone is in love with someone, they’ll weigh in on the matter.
She further mentioned that, like, in her six-year relationship, she and her partner had to ignore strange stories and tabloid nonsense. Thus, the song is a little about disregarding those crap to safeguard the real stuff.
More Regarding That Lana Del Rey Collaboration…
Swift shared a video on Instagram explaining the reasoning behind the lyrics of “Snow On The Beach” from Midnights, which she co-wrote with Lana Del Rey, and gushing about her longstanding affection for her newest partner.
She mentioned that the song is about being in love with an individual at the exact time they are in love with you during a fateful moment. You kind of glance around and wonder, ‘Is this real? Is this a nightmare? Is this a joke? Is this occurring? Is this occurring? Similar to the sight of snow falling on a beach.”
She mentioned that, in her opinion, Lana Del Rey is among the greatest musicians ever. Thus, it was a pleasure and a joy to share the same time with her.
The Release Week Schedule for Taylor
Swift kindly informed fans of her schedule for the week after the release of Midnights, four days before the album’s official release date.
