On May 11th there is a new moon in Taurus ushering in new energy that is grounded in reality. This new moon is perfect for finally setting those new intentions that will allow us to lay a new solid foundation. The only thing is we will have to be patient with the results as Taurus takes its time building its foundation so that it can have a safe, solid place to enjoy all of the simple pleasures of life.
In Touch with the Body
With this new moon in Taurus, it is important to consider our own relationship with our bodies. The best way to do this is to explore the five senses. Taurus energy understands the importance of being in the body. While we are born in the sign of Aries, it is in the sign of Taurus that we “sink into” our bodies. How do we feel about our bodies? Do we see our bodies as beautiful or are there issues that we need to work on in regards to body awareness and self-acceptance? With the new moon energy combined with Taurus, this is an excellent time to perform a new moon body ritual that includes a bath filled with herbs and essential oils. Once you’re finished taking a positive body-centered bath filled with positive affirmations, enjoy a delicious meal that entices your taste buds, and don’t skip on the decadent dessert! Taurus enjoys being in the body through its senses, and this new moon offers us the opportunity to really consider how connected or unconnected we are with our own bodies so that we can begin creating solid plans to care for ourselves.

At this new moon in Taurus, money, and possessions are definitely highlighted. New energy calls for new ways of living and this includes our relationship with money and possessions. Consider how money is currently earned, allocated, and spent at this time. Are we earning enough to simply get by or are we genuinely creating enough income to live a full and abundant life? What is our relationship with money like? Do we have a deficit or abundance mindset? How do we manage our money and are we doing so in a way that allows us to live comfortably? Taurus likes being self-sufficient and managing itself well is a sign that it is stable and high functioning.
Similarly, Taurus energy has the tendency to hold onto things with dear life, so at this new moon, let us consider what our relationship is to what we possess. Are we collecting possessions because we really need and want these things or to fill a void? Do we treat the people in our lives like they are our possessions? With this new moon energy, there is an opportunity to set the foundation to develop new values related to possessions that are healthy.
New Moon in Taurus Aspects
This new moon in Taurus is making some lovely aspects to both Neptune and Pluto. The harmonious working sextile with Neptune in Pisces suggests that we can use our intuitive faculties to help us create those new solid plans, and we’ll also have support as the new moon in Taurus forms a harmonious trine to Pluto in Capricorn which lets us feel that we are making the right moves in a concrete manner.
There are some energetic challenges to this new moon as seen with the squares to both Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius. This energy can result in us wanting to establish concrete plans, but we may run into some limitations that prevent our growth.
Likewise, with Saturn in Aquarius in the mix, there are likely blocks that will make us feel burdened (Saturn/Moon square) or emotionally unsupported at this time. Remember, it is important that we check in with ourselves and practice patience (Taurus) in getting where we want to be. At this new moon, we are beginning to build new foundations, so the challenges prevent us from moving ahead hastily and allow us to truly make good decisions that are grounded in our authenticity.
