As we began our trek through Pisces season, exploring the position of Pisces as the final sign on the astrological wheel is significant. Pisces represents the duality of spirit in the physical. In the sign of Pisces, this is where all of the previous incarnations as the previous 11 zodiac signs are considered. Pisces is also where the ego identity is dissolved so that the soul can transition back to oneness with Source. While Pisces also represents the dream state and the subconscious, most importantly, it represents the wrapping up of this physical experience and returning to the universal experience of Oneness.
This desire to return home is difficult to process in this physical reality. It’s one of the reasons why so many Pisces often seem as if they are a bit out of it or looking off into someplace that is far beyond where they are. It’s as if Pisces is seeking something that can’t be found within the physical any longer. This makes sense because the goal of Pisces is ego death and dissolution which allows them to give up all that has made them who they are throughout many incarnations to finally be reabsorbed back into Source.
The Piscean death is different from the Scorpionic death in that the Pisces death is a transition that allows them to move into a different state where the physical is released. Pisces understands that their energy remains, but their physical state changes. Similar to water being boiled. Boiled water goes from a liquid state to steam. The water still exists in the atmosphere even if it cannot be seen with the physical eye. The water can be felt in the air as humidity.
The End of The Astrological Experience
As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces also represents the end of the astrological experience. From being physically born in the sign of Aries to reaching the midpoint of being whole and complete unto oneself in the sign of Virgo to finally reaching the last stage of the astrological experience in Pisces, Pisces is an old soul indeed. Pisces has been through so much by the time it reaches the state as the last sign that oftentimes the physical just doesn’t seem as it once was in previous incarnations.
Once a soul reaches Pisces, there is the understanding that the soul has experienced a thorough trek around the astrological experience. Now, there is the decision to dedicate itself to a spiritual journey that leads it back to Source permanently or for the time being…or to loop back into the physical experience to experience the rebirth for another try in a physical body.
By the time a soul gets to the experience of Pisces, the soul is often quite weary. It is for this reason that Pisces is often accused of being unmotivated and just coasting by in life. So, what exactly is Pisces here to do? Some would say that Pisces is here to make the physical experience the ultimate dream. Others would say to pursue a spiritual path. Some would say to be the spiritually-led servant for the downtrodden.
However, those who really understand reincarnation and astrology know that Pisces is here to wrap up the physical experience and to release all the things that create the illusion of separation so that the soul can freely release the physical constraints that prevent union with Source.
Being In Transition
The duality of Pisces is represented by the symbol of two fish connected at the tail with one fish swimming upstream and one fish swimming downstream. This duality also is represented by the common idea that Pisces has one foot in the physical and one foot in the spiritual. In many ways, it is as if Pisces is in a continuous state of transition while being in the physical realm. They don’t fully belong here on earth, yet they are here. They know for sure that they are part of the Source, yet they have decided to separate and come here into the physical. It kinda represents a weird limbo that Pisces has to learn how to navigate for its benefit. Not many will understand exactly what Pisces is going through as being in between two different realms simultaneously can be a bit confusing which we have Neptune, Pisces’ ruling planet, to thank for.
At some point though, Pisces will be propelled to move beyond the transition of being stuck between the physical and the spiritual, and at this point, this is where the Piscean soul will choose the spiritual journey that will lead them back to Source. This journey back home could take many many lifetimes to achieve, but at some point, it will click for the Piscean soul that the journey has always been to return to Source as this physical worldly experience is just a temporary learning ground.
Ego Death: The End Of Self
In order for Pisces to finally return to Source, it has to first give up everything that makes it who it is in this physical reality. The whole idea of being embodied is just for this physical experience. The truth of the matter is that Pisces understands that we are much more than the bodies that we possess. When we release these bodies, our energy will live on forever as energy is eternal. Thus, part of the transition process is getting rid of everything that forms our identification. The ego is one of the greatest aspects of identification because it is what we see ourselves as. Whether this is our race, ethnicity, gender, sex, etc. all of these things will eventually have to be released in order to return to Source as there is no separation in Source.
The Return To Source; The Return To Completion
So, what happens when Pisces finally returns to Source consciously? To be honest, no one really knows, and that is the mystery that is Pisces as everyone’s spiritual journey back to Source is unique. Some could speculate that the religions cover this aspect of what happens after transition or death. Even still, no one really knows. Pisces just answers the call to return back from which it came. Thus, that longing that Pisces has had all of their lives to be a part of something much greater, much deeper, is finally achieved as the soul goes home.
To Stay or To Return
So, once the Piscean soul finally transitions into the oneness that is Source, does the soul stay content to be part of the universal oneness or does the soul decide to reincarnate into the physical experience to be born again starting at Aries and then go through the process all over again? The choice depends on what that energy and/or soul wants for itself.
Some energies will choose to stay enveloped in the oneness that is the Universe. Others will choose to strike out again, incarnating into the physical experience in an effort to grow their souls as the cycle of returning to Source is repeated. Nevertheless, the path is always back to Source in the case of the Piscean soul.
Ultimately, while it is not frequently talked about, Pisces is the end for reason. This sign represents the wrapping up of the physical experience of being born. From being physically born in the sign of Aries to the wrapup of physical experience in Pisces, this last stage of the soul’s journey in the sign of Pisces is an opportunity to consider how the experience of being human has “grown the soul” as the soul releases everything that made it who it was in the physical to finally return home to Source.
