1-Million Deaths
As of September 29th, 2020, we have reached 1-million deaths that can be attributed to the COVID virus. But how do we maintain a semblance of normality during this time? Are we to stay inside, shut the doors and hope everything turns out fine? Or are there tricks and tactics that we can explore to gain the connection we crave? Here are some simple steps you can begin using today to take control of your life and reach out to individuals that have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus.
A Glimmer of Hope
On a positive note, scientists and medical researchers believe that a vaccine may be on the horizon. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently donated 200-million dollars to prepare for a potential vaccine. This financial boost allows facilities to make arrangements and prepare to serve patients who seek out a vaccine when it becomes approved. In a broad sense, this means the general public will receive treatment quickly and efficiently.
Moreover, millions of healthcare providers and specialists are working around the clock to find a cure. Over 240 potential vaccines have made their way into a testing phase. In layman’s terms, these trials ensure the vaccine is safe and effective for human consumption and distribution. Out of the 240 potential vaccines, 9 have made it to the final round of testing and development. This round uses the vaccines on human participants as a final step before mass production.
As they make progress on the medical front, let’s figure out how we can maintain our sanity in the coming weeks and months.
Trekking Out Into the Wild
While the pandemic numbers may confuse and scare you, let it be known that it is possible to get out into the world and maintain a productive routine. As long as we follow specific precautions designed to keep coronavirus at bay, we can maintain our health. Here are some tips you can use the next time you need to leave your home:
- Always use a face mask when you’re close to other people.
- Make your health, and the health of those around you, a priority.
- Maintain a distance of 6-feet from others when in a public area.
- Use hand-sanitizers, hot water and soap to clean your hands after being in public.
- Refrain from touching your eyes, mouth and nose after making contact with public surfaces.
- Encourage your family to adopt healthy habits and use face coverings when possible.
Maintain Hope for the Future
If there’s one lesson that we’ve learned while the entire world is going through this pandemic, it’s this: We must always maintain hope for the future and make productive choices in the present.
No matter how bleak the forecast looks as we roll into 2021, we need to act as if it’s going to get better. Adopt productive habits, maintain your health, social distance from strangers and bond with your loved ones. When we combine all of these steps, we create hope and positivity moving forward.
