Dry Air and Unseasonably Warm Temperatures Help Fuel California’s Wildfires but Relief May Be on the Horizon

There is slight relief on the horizon for weary residents of California. While the region continues to deal with unseasonably warm weather and low humidity on Monday, forecasters are predicting cooling temperatures along with a chance of precipitation across a wide swath of Northern California later this week.

The Latest on California’s Wildfires: As of Monday morning, there are over 16,600 firefighters working toward containing 23 major wildfires burning across the state. On Sunday, crews responded to 26 new blazes. With the exception of the Lambert Fire in Amador County, all of the fires were brought under full containment.
