On May 26th there’s going to be a lunar eclipse that will be the domino effect to what is known as eclipse season. Eclipse season is basically a series of eclipses, both lunar and solar, that happen over several years. Astrologically, these eclipses are usually in the same signs, and they represent significant changes as it relates to that particular energy on the astrological axis. Currently, we are going through the Gemini/Sagittarius eclipse cycle. Anyone that has significant Sagittarius or Gemini energy is going to experience a lot of changes in their overall lives. Eclipses are a pretty big deal. In fact, some would say they’re like the new and full moons on steroids. Because of this, it’s important to know more about eclipses so that you can take advantage of this potent change energy.
The Astrological Importance of Eclipses
Eclipses occur during a new or full moon. The lunar eclipse will happen during the full moon while the solar eclipse will happen during the new moon. When we get into discussing the upcoming blood moon lunar eclipse on May 26th, it is important to have a basic understanding of the astrological importance of eclipses. Essentially, the eclipses activate what is known as the lunar nodes. Those who are familiar with astrology know these to be the north and south nodes. These nodes are exceptionally important because they represent everything that we have ever been and are used to being at the south node while also connecting us to our higher destiny and fate at the north node. Thus, when there is an eclipse, it is as if our destiny is being activated by the potent lunar energy.

Just like the moon represents change in astrology as it is tied to the sign of Cancer and its cardinal energy, eclipses provide change and then some. Typically, the lunar eclipse which is occurring on May 26th can be felt up to six months prior as well as up to six months after the event. With a solar eclipse, the energy can be experienced a whole year after it occurs. For this reason, it is very important to understand how the eclipse energy impacts each of us on a personal level.
Historically, there have been many people who fear eclipses because of the significant amount of change that they bring. However, there’s nothing to fear. For those that have an issue with change, the idea that something could happen out of the blue that turns life upside down is quite nerve-racking. If an eclipse is impacting us personally, it’s usually because it’s time for us to let something go and move on. Oftentimes, when eclipse energy does produce some sort of crisis it’s because the change that was prompted by the eclipse was long overdue.
So, there is nothing to fear! The eclipses help us move forward in whichever way we need to. For each of us, the effects of eclipses will be different, and we all can tell how and where the impact of the eclipse will impact us personally by looking at our natal chart. Look for the houses that are ruled by both Sagittarius and Gemini for details on who, what, when, where, and how of the eclipse energy. For those who have significant Sagittarius and Gemini placements such as the sun, moon, and rising sign, this eclipse season will be especially important in allowing you to experience changes that are necessary for a more fulfilling experience.

May 26, 2021-Total Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse
On May 26th, there’s going to be an absolutely gorgeous total blood moon lunar eclipse in Sagittarius that you just simply don’t want to miss! There are certain locations throughout the world that will be able to view the beautiful sight of the Moon cloaked in red. If you are not in a location where you can view the eclipse, there are a number of astronomy websites that offer the option to view the lunar eclipse in real-time. This particular lunar eclipse is supposed to last for a little over 14 minutes. Since it is a total lunar eclipse, this means that the entirety of the moon will appear to be submerged in the earth’s shadow which will cause refractory light from the Sun which causes the red hue of the moon. This particular lunar eclipse is considered to be a bit special because it is one of the shortest lunar eclipses in many years.
June 10, 2021 Annular Solar Eclipse
On June 10th, there will be a new moon solar eclipse in the sign of Gemini. This particular eclipse is also somewhat special because it is going to be exceptionally longer than usual. It is also unique because of its link to the previous short lunar eclipse that occurred on May 26th in the sign of Sagittarius. This will be an annular solar eclipse where the moon will cover the Sun and leave an outer edge of the sun’s luminance exposed. Some call the annular solar eclipse the “ring of fire.”
December 4, 2021 Total Solar Eclipse
The total solar eclipse on December 4, 2021, brings a close to the Gemini-Sagittarius eclipse season. As this is a total solar eclipse, the moon will completely cover the sun. As the final eclipse of the Gemini-Sagittarius cycle, it is highly important to consider what this particular eclipse season has created in terms of change in our lives. It is also important to note that currently, the transiting north node is in the sign of Gemini while the south node is in Sagittarius. The nodes will be traveling through these signs until January of 2022. Thus, in many ways, the total solar eclipse at the beginning of December offers us an opportunity to consider how we have been navigating our personal lives, local communities, and the link to broader understanding through Sagittarius.
