Once every month the Sun and the Moon come together creating a new light cycle which is the exact time at which the lunar newness occurs, but the energy and effects are a week-long process with that exact moment happening right in the middle. The Earth aligns as the lunar planet is between the Earth and the Sun. The following three (September 17, October 16, November 14) are unique and are known as Supermoons.

A Supermoon happens when the new one occurs at the same time as the celestial body is closest to the Earth, which is known as the perigee of its orbit around the Earth. Although it may not be visible to us, the difference in the ocean’s tide is greatly affected by the closeness. Significance
As the Moon and Sun combine in the astrological sign of Virgo, this becomes a time for new beginnings or new directions. During the waxing process (time between the new and full moons), we accumulate energy and ideas while it becomes increasingly visible. Because of the natural evening darkness with only light from the stars, and without the lunar light, our regeneration and cleansing are important. Recharging and resting are super important during this lunar phase.
This lunar process is the phase where we set forth our intentions but its probably wise to keep it to ourselves during this time of minimal light. The horoscope of all astrological signs will aim toward a positive direction. Consequently, we want to keep our full access slightly in the dark for the time being. If we have goals or ideas for a new project, this is the perfect time to set those goals and to begin a new passion or interest. Libra (September 23-October 22)
Although you are a social person, Libra, this lunation is best used by you to reflect and heal from past pain. Time for you to be alone to connect with yourself in a real way to understand who you are as opposed to who others believe you to be. Enjoy being alone and actually find things that you can do by yourself. As difficult as it may be for you, make yourself the priority for your own recuperation and self-awareness. A new lunar orb is about new directions and healing.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
