Sometimes it’s difficult to explain how Astrology works. There are people who think it’s all a fallacy. However, Astrology is also based on the alignment of the planets, the moon, and the sun, and can be as factually proven as Astronomy can be.
According to The Farmer’s Almanac, astrologers believe that the position of the Moon and Sun within the twelve divisions of the zodiac influences what happens on Earth, from the personalities of people born under a certain sign to predicting success about specific endeavors at certain times.
It is from that “prediction” point that subjectivity can interject itself; horoscopes are written based upon humans’ analyses of that position. That subjectivity becomes an area in which we can encounter much “gray” area, i.e. happenings that are ambiguous and not provable.
While we are discussing “gray” area, let’s take this subjective exploration a little further and have some fun interweaving the zodiac signs into four other common colors.
Can a Person’s Astrological Sign Predict Their Preference in Colors?
This is also a fun exercise to try with your friends or family. Let’s take these FOUR colors: Blue, Red, Green, and Purple and see how they might co-relate to the zodiac. Is there a relationship between the signs and color preference? And if so, can it be tied into the general norm/nature of that astrological persona?
Blue:
The color blue usually draws the largest proportion of the signs. An informal sampling and survey of approximately one hundred individuals produced the following breakdown. Please note that some signs may appear in more than one category.
The following signs showed an overall preference for the color blue:
- Scorpio
- Gemini
- Sagittarius
- Pisces
- Capricorn
- Aries
- Libra
You may be astounded that blue pulled in over half of the entire chart! However, think for a moment about smart marketing. What is Walmart’s entire color scheme? How about Lowe’s? Individuals who choose BLUE are often very people-oriented and most often choose socially-interactive careers. Furthermore, most schools, hospitals, and social offices color schemes within the calming blue spectrum.
Red
Red was surprisingly the least chosen color in this informal study. People who choose RED are often very organized and can be dogmatic and systematic. They are very organized, and that may be the image stores such as Target and Kmart want to embrace. STOP signs and red sports cars can plant a vivid picture of red’s significance and assertiveness. Furthermore, it is said that wearing red is not a good choice if you must appear in court as it appears aggressive.
These are the astrological signs that claimed to relate most closely to red:
Aquarius was actually all over the color palette: perhaps it is natural that an air sign might be a little flighty. It’s mildly amusing that Taurus related largely to red when you think about the Taurus bull seeing red (i.e. Red Bull energy drink). Possibly the most understandable one is Cancer, as this sign has a high degree of intuition, is very organized, and is a fan of love and romance (i.e. red hearts and Cupid).
Green
Green, similar to red, generally draws people who are fans of organization and order. However, they are more driven to the point of being robotic. Although they might pretend to like socializing, they are often introverts. They thrive on technology and the sciences. It might surprise many to know that most politicians would choose green (they just pretend to be socialites). Here’s a profound statistic from other empirical studies: many criminals — including serial killers — are drawn to the color green (maybe the color of money?).
The astrological signs that indicated a preference to green were:
- Cancer
- Capricorn
- Aquarius
- Gemini
Furthermore, itis important to note that persons with preferences for green often have a high intelligence quotient (IQ).
Purple
Maybe it’s because purple is a mixture of red and blue, or perhaps it’s because purple is the color of royalty, the signs that chose this connection form a strange conundrum. Centaurs who choose purple are often the life of the party, but you’ll have to get them there because they’ll get lost enroute or forget the time and date. Conversely, the well-disciplined Lion often gravitates to this color of “royalty” although they are often ultra organized. Therein is the conundrum.
These signs are usually drawn to purple:
- Sagittarius
- Leo
- Scorpio
- Libra
- Virgo
Additional things that purple-lovers usually enjoy are the performing and creative arts, if not as participants, then certainly as onlookers.
