One big health risk of vaping is addiction. Vaping is a healthier alternative to cigarettes. However, a person who vapes nicotine is still vaping a substance that has highly addictive properties. Nicotine addiction is very real and very serious—despite the fact that it is not seen as being as big of a problem as heroin or meth addictions. It is generally not healthy to depend on a substance to feel good. Such addictions alter people’s personalities and make them more prone to spending too much on addictive substances that they don’t actually need.
The problem is that it is very easy to purchase vape items and conceal a vape habit. A person who would have never smoked cigarettes may take up vaping because it is “healthier.” Vaping has spread among teenagers, which is bad because a new generation of young people is getting hooked on nicotine. Teen vaping is an issue that has been widely publicized.
Chemicals In Vape Juices
Vape juices come in many different flavors. Unfortunately, these flavors commonly have additives in them that are carcinogenic. This adds a whole new dimension of risks to vaping. Another danger is the fact that particles of toxic metals have been found in the vapor of e-cigarettes. People who vape may not be inhaling the same toxins that are in cigarettes, though they are certainly inhaling something else that is toxic. Recently, it has been found that some of the chemicals in vape juices are harmful to the cilia in a person’s throat and affect the genetics so that cilia cannot properly work.
Freak Accidents
There are reports of rare occurrences happening where vaporizers explode in people’s faces and death results. This happens as a result of many circumstances. The battery could be exposed, damaged or just not suited for the given device. Modified devices and devices that are used in ways that the manufacturer did not intend are also at risk.
