Starting October 10, 2021, Saturn finally moves direct in the sign of Aquarius. After spending several months retrograde, the planet of limitations, structure, accountability, and responsibility gets the green light and is geared up and ready to go! Saturn’s forward movement is like a breath of fresh air allowing us to move forward with far fewer limitations and restrictions. Incorporating the lessons from Saturn retrograde into our forward movement will ensure that we are taking action in a concrete, solid manner that honors our individuality while assisting humanity.

All of those limitations, obstacles, and starts and stops that are often experienced with Saturn retrograde finally let up. Now is a perfect time to take all of the lessons and insights learned from the Saturn retrograde and apply them in a practical, concrete manner. With the influence of Aquarian energy, Saturn advises that we take a concrete practical approach to our lives which allows us to ground Aquarian-related themes. Some examples of this include our place within society, group associations, and the responsibility of freedom. With Saturn being the main planetary ruler of Capricorn as well as the co-ruler of Aquarius, there’s this understanding that in order to release ourselves from restrictions and know who we are to the fullest of ourselves, we must be accountable and responsible for ourselves. Oftentimes with Aquarius energy, there is this belief that we can just be a rebel without a cause. However, with the energy of Saturn combining with Aquarius it is important to make our unique paths forward purposeful. Being Accountable for Your Impact on the World
The energy of Saturn in Aquarius reminds us that we as individuals have an impact on the collective. Aquarius energy is oriented toward humanity, the group, and honoring our own unique paths. So, why exactly are we here and what do we exactly contribute to the world? This is the energy of Saturn in Aquarius. All humans play a part in the experience that we have in this world. No matter our race, ethnicity, sex, gender, and/or station in life, each of us is a piece of the whole. Saturn in Aquarius reminds us that no man is an island and that we all essentially are in this together. While Saturn’s opposite sign of Leo considers itself royal and may event set itself apart from the rest, Saturn in Aquarius reminds us that even the royals belong to humanity.
With Saturn’s forward movement, this is a great time to consider our place among the collective. This energy can show up in a variety of ways. For example, if we are associated with particular groups, what is our place within those groups? Does the intention of those groups match our own personal values? This energy is also reflected in the types of friendship groups we associate with. Saturn in Aquarius has the effect of limiting and/or creating hardships and restrictions in regards to friendship groups so that we can understand the value and importance of solid friendship/group associations. With Saturn moving forward, we may experience shifts in our friendships with a desire for mature, solid connections that honor the uniqueness of who we are (Aquarius).
Ready to Honor Your Own Unique Path
Now that Saturn is officially moving forward in the sign of Aquarius, are we really ready to own up to our unique selves? Aquarius moves for itself and is not afraid to be set apart from the group including society if doing so will allow it to operate from a place of authenticity. Sometimes this is interpreted as being a rebel. With Saturn connected with Aquarius at this time, it’s important to make sure that the rebel has an actual cause. Responsibility and accountability for the self that honors living one’s truth will often require walking a path that is different from what other people and society expect of us. With the influence of Saturn, we are called to honor our own unique path in a way that takes the chaotic, electric energy of Uranus and Aquarius and channels it into something concrete that can be experienced in this physical realm.
While there may be many people that will tell us how we should be and what we should do, typical of Aquarius energy, nothing anyone outside of us can really tell us who we are. It is our responsibility to do the work of understanding where we fit in within the collective that is humanity. One of the issues with Saturn in Aquarius is the omnipresent feeling of not “fitting in.” However, this is the energy of Aquarius. Saturn is the ruler of setting goals and accomplishing them. So, the goal is not to fit in. The goal is simply to be the unique individuals that we are and then offer our individuality in a solid form to humanity.
It is with great hope that we all will use this forward movement of Saturn in Aquarius to honor the uniqueness of ourselves which will allow us to share our individuality with the collective in a concrete manner that is beneficial to all.
