Tips On How to Get Your Kids to Wear Masks

As the Coronavirus pandemic continues on, mask wearing has become a necessity for many. An increasing number of people are taking to wearing masks when visiting public areas such as the grocery store. Face masks are playing a vital role in preventing the spread of COVID-19; one mask can capture viral droplets that would otherwise spread infection to nearby people.

As a new social expectation, mask wearing doesn’t just apply to adultss. Based off of the guidelines released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), children aged 2 and older are recommended to wear a face mask in public. Infants under the age of 2 should not wear a face due to a risk of suffocation. The CDC advices that regardless of whether a child is showing symptoms, that child should wear a mask when attending school or a child care facility. A child doesn’t need to wear a face mask when outside; however, they should continue practicing 6 feet social distancing and avoid touching surfaces such as playground equipment.
