For those who are familiar with the game, the Stark Industries building can be found in the northeast region of the island. Tony Stark’s home turf will be a crucial location for gameplayers, as they are now able to navigate the large facility, get loot and rendezvous with crucial characters, among other things.
In addition, the update to the game includes a number of powerups that are specific to the popular Marvel characters, such as the repulsor lifts commonly used by Iron Man. Thor will also have the ability to use his Mjolnir Strike and land a hit on a targeted location.
The latest version of Fortnite will also include new formidable foes, Galactus’ drones. These enemies will also be able to be used as weapons if they are picked up fast enough. If they are not picked up fast enough, they will explode.
Finally, there is now the ability for players to unlock features to showcase their skillsets. This is part of Marvel Knockout, which allows a gameplayer’s team to work to become the top squad around.
Fortnite‘s Fourth Season
This Marvel takeover began with the launch of the latest season of Fortnite at the end of August. Gameplayers were able to interact with some of the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe including Wolverine, She-Hulk, and Thor. A tie-in comic book also exists to excite gameplayers even further.
This Marvel takeover continues the successful run of the popular online video game that began in 2017. Of course, Marvel is also widely considered the most successful film series ever, and there’s no stopping anytime soon on the introduction of new content. Combining the two entities makes perfect sense for both parties involved.
Ongoing war with Apple
This newest release comes at a turbulent time for the game’s developer, Epic. Epic has been engaging in a back and forth war with tech giant Apple over its fairly strict app requirements. This fourth season of Fortnite is currently unavailable to those gamers who wish to play the game via iOS. The battle between the two could worsen for gamers, as Epic spokespeople have stated that in the near future players on iOS will be unable to even log in to Fortnite.
This is too bad for those users, since Fortnite will also be hosting numerous concerts over the next three weeks and will keep adding fun new features to the game. Those whom are affected by this ongoing war will certainly want to stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.
What’s next in store during season four?
Some insiders have speculated that the popular villain, Venom, will be appearing in one of the next updates to the game. There is even further speculation that Spider-Man will also be introduced in the near future. Finally, the latest Marvel film, Black Widow, is set for a November release so there could very well be some sort of tie-in with Fortnite around that time. There will certainly be many more surprises that should please Marvel fans, and the current season will run until November 30, 2020. Also expect Fortnite to try to build as much buzz as possible in the lead up to the holiday season.
