Ceres is the mother figure among the asteroids. Taking her name from Roman mythology, she is also linked to Greek mythology’s Demeter. As the story goes, Demeter’s daughter Persephone was lured to Hades and, to this day, held prisoner there for half the year. In astrology, Ceres has a complex job to play.
