Meanwhile, the amount of people associated with the president that is now confirmed to be positive continues to grow.

Trump’s Return to White House: The president returned to the White House on Monday evening after spending three nights at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Trump checked into the medical facility on Friday evening after reports surfaced that he needed supplemental oxygen. The president staged a triumphant return to his home on Monday, staging a photo opp on the balcony of the White House South Portico.
The famous balcony was decked out in American flags. Trump removed his mask and saluted Marine Lawn as it departed the South Lawn after dropping him back home. The curious moment has been praised by Trump’s supporters as an act of courage and strength while slammed by the critics as reckless behavior.
Latest Medical Report: White House physician Dr. Sean Conley released a memo on Tuesday regarding the latest on the president’s health. Conley said that Trump continues to make progress and is doing “extremely well.” Trump’s vital signs remain stable and the ambulatory oxygen saturation level is hovering in the 95-97% range. Conley said that the president is showing no symptoms of the virus. Trump is on his fifth and final treatment of Remdesivr. He has also been taking an experimental antibody cocktail in an effort to head off the progression of the virus.

Critics’ Response: Critics of the president claim that he is using this as a political stunt to gain the support of undecided voters. Trump raised eyebrows on Sunday when he left his suite at Walter Reed for a ride around the perimeter of the facility in a vehicle driven by Secret Service agents. Critics said that the president put his agents at risk by making them ride in a hermetically sealed vehicle with him.
The left side of the aisle was also not happy with the political theater that transpired on Monday evening when Trump removed his mask on the South Portico of the White House. Those who oppose the president point to his continued blase attitude about the severity of the virus, even after being diagnosed himself.
Divisive Tweets: Nobody who has followed Trump over the last few years is surprised that he is still reaching out to his supporters using his Twitter account. Trump was uncharacteristically silent on Twitter throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, however, his account is picking up steam since his release from Walter Reed.

Trump caused a stir on Monday when he tweeted out that people should not be afraid of COVID-19, nor should they let it dominate their lives. In the same tweet, he also remarked that he felt better than he has in 20 years.
A Tuesday tweet by the president was flagged as being a violation of Twitter’s rules on misleading information related to the virus. In the tweet, Trump compared the virus to the seasonal flu, intentionally downplaying its severity. A similar post on Facebook was taken down completely.
Confirmed Cases in Trump’s Orbit Grows: The COVID-19 virus continues its march through the White House and surrounding circles. On Monday, the White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany announced that she had tested positive for the virus. In addition, four White House press aides have tested positive. The press quarters at the White House are now a ghost town as the normally bustling area is being deep cleaned.

Another concerning development is the Tuesday announcement that the Vice Commandant of the US Coast Guard, Admiral Charles Ray, tested positive for the virus. Ray had been at the White House for a meeting on Sunday, September 26. This was just one day after the introduction of Justice Amy Coney Barrett in the White House Rose Garden. It is now widely believed that this gathering was a super-spreader event.
Because of Ray’s diagnosis, the top US general, Gen. Mark Milley, and several members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are now quarantining. All of these officials had been in close proximity to Ray over the last week at several meetings at the Pentagon. Milley and the officials are working from home during the recommended quarantine period.
Trump Working Throughout His Health Crisis: Trump appears to be working throughout his battle with COVID-19. The big news of the day on Tuesday was a tweet by the president that effectively ended all hope that a compromise on the proposed COVID-19 stimulus bill would be reached. In the tweet, Trump said that he has instructed his team to stop negotiations on the bill until after he wins the election.
Democrats were hoping to pass this legislation as soon as possible. With Trump ending the negotiations until at least early November, the deal is off of the table in the short-term. The market reacted to the announcement by dropping significantly. The Dow fell over 600 points following the announcement, closing down 1.3% for the day. The S&P 500 dropped 1.4% while the Nasdaq Composite tumbled 1.6% after the tweet.
